Joe Carter’s piece did you justice. Opting out of a contract after producing children and vowing eternal love is more than flaky, it’s dishonest. These same people cancel their advertising contracts if they didn’t sell enough widgets, cars or seats in movie theatres. At least the newspapers can short-rate them the difference between the completed contract, while a jilted spouse is left shaking with the emotional, uncertainty facing a torn-up family.

" Ostensibly about the break-up of her marriage and loss of her dream house, a four-story Victorian brownstone in Brooklyn's Carroll Gardens neighborhood, Beverly Willett's absorbing memoir is really about finding a home in one's own skin. A delight."
